Need for specialization in Animal Reiki
Is Animal Reiki different from traditional Reiki? The elementary answer is that Animal Reiki is also Reiki. The universal energy is the same – there is simply one universal energy. And at the same time, Animal Reiki is about the animals and is practiced honoring the unique sensitivities of the animal kingdom.
The initial Reiki teachings were intended for humans. Both the practitioner and the recipient knew the norms – e.g., lying or sitting still and positioning of hands. Now, recall what happens when you ask your cat to sit still so that you can do some Reiki. And in that feline trait of simply being who they are, lies the distinction of Animal Reiki. With animals, Reiki is practiced as per the terms and conditions set by each animal and not as per conventions. Practitioners have a deep appreciation and empathy for the animal kingdom and see animals as equals in the healing process.

Animal Reiki for Reiki Practitioners Course Structure
- 21-Day program;
- 4 Live 1:1 calls over Zoom once a week; &
- Practice instructions and assignments to be completed each week.
During this course, you will:
• Revisit the precepts;
• Experience in real life how Animal Reiki practices differ;
• Learn traditional Animal Reiki practices and how to use them in daily life;
• Practice how to offer Reiki to animals; &
• Learn how to offer Reiki in shelter environments.
And, you will receive:
- Animal Reiki attunements;
- Handouts and guidance on daily practices that will be required to be done for 21 days; &
- An Animal Reiki for Reiki Practitioners Certification on completion of assignments.
In order to receive the Certificate, you will be required to:
- Provide a Reiki Level 2 Certification from any lineage;
- Be present over video each week during class timings; &
- Submit homework assignments each week.

Reiki is a very simple technique to learn and is not dependent on one having any prior experience with healing, meditation, or any other kind of training. It has been successfully learned by over one million people from all walks of life, both young and old. All that is needed is an openness.
